April 3, 2026

In 1985, she began working for the Natural Resources Conservation Service in Jackson, Mississippi. She remained with the Federal Agency as their wildlife biologist until her retirement in 2020. She loved her job, especially the part that involved working with animals.

On July 29, 1978, she married the love of her life, Boyce Edward (Eddie) Clardy Jr. They had two children, Erin Leigh Clardy West (William) and Boyce Edward (Trey) Clardy III (Abney). She was blessed with three grandsons, Oliver, Monty, and Cord, who were very precious to her heart. She thought the sun rose and set with them. Her love for others made them family too. Wendy Thornburg Warren and Ally Johnson are two among many whom she loved.

The outdoors was her favorite place to be. She loved all of God’s creatures and plants. Eddie was always having to set up birdhouses around the place for her, or stopping on the side of the road to get seeds from some plant she saw as they were driving by. Glynda also loved gardening and canning. She loved giving her canned items to others. She was a devoted wife who supported her husband in all of his horse adventures. Her voice at shows is heard not only on videos of Eddie but also on many others.

Even though she loved all these other things in life, her love for her Lord and Savior was the most important thing to her. She thought you should live your life in such a way that someone could tell you believe in Jesus Christ without saying anything.

Glynda leaves behind her husband of forty-seven years, Eddie; two children, Erin (William) and Trey (Abney); grandchildren, Oliver, Monty, and Cord; parents, Kenneth and Rose Nichols; siblings, Clipper Nichols (Jenna), Carol Faulkner (Mark), and Joe Nichols; mother-in-law, Norma Clardy; and many other nephews and nieces that she cherished.

She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Boyce E Clardy Sr., who adored her dearly, and her sister-in-law, Rachel Nichols.

Services will be held on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at First Baptist Church of Mendenhall, MS at 12:00 PM with visitation from 10:00 until 12:00 PM. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in West Point, MS.
