Freeda Kinard Crawford, 91, of New Hebron, Mississippi, passed away Friday, October 2, 2026, at Castlewoods Place in Flowood, Mississippi. She was born on February 4, 1935, in Louisville, Mississippi, to James Carl Kinard and Eula Ivy Kinard.
Freeda worked in the forestry industry until she retired. When she wasn’t working, she enjoyed spending time in her yard and working her flower beds.
She was the most loving and caring mother and grandmother. Her grands and great-grands knew her simply as Nanny. Attending her grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s sporting events brought her great joy. She loved her church, New Hebron Methodist Church, and loved the Mississippi State Bulldogs.
Freeda is survived by her daughters, Sharon Burnham (Danny), Wanda McNerney, Dawn Cody, her grandchildren, Shay Barry (Paul), Amber Gunn (Justin), Kala Russell, Reagan McNerney, Luke McNerney, and her great-grandchildren, Gage Barry, Jayden Gunn, Jayce Gunn, Nolan Barry, Andrew Riojas, Avery Barry, Colton Riojas, Delta Grace White, and Jersie Gunn.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Eula Kinard, her husband, Frank Crawford, and her great-grandson, Timothy Holiday, Jr.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 4, 2026, from 1:30 PM until 3:00 PM at New Hebron United Methodist Church in New Hebron, Mississippi. The funeral service will follow the Sunday visitation at 3:00 PM, with burial at New Hebron Cemetery.
