Eleanor Joanne Smith, 87, of Mendenhall, MS went to be with the Lord on July 2, 2026 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson MS. She was born on July 27, 1938. Joanne was a beloved member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in Mendenhall.

A Visitation will be held on Monday July 6, 2026 starting at 10:00 am until the Funeral Service at 12:00 pm at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Mendenhall, MS. Burial will follow in D’Lo Cemetery in D’Lo, MS. Bro. Earl Clark and Bro. Kevin Bishop will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall is in charge of the arrangements. 601-849-5031

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas A. Smith; and parents, John F. Boesdorfer and Irene Boesdorfer.

She is survived by her sons, Kenneth “Smitty” Smith (Pam), John Robert Smith, Jeffery Allen Smith (Melinda); daughter, Patricia M. Neal; grandchildren, Kristin Parker (Luke), Jennifer Rose (Brad), Kasey Cannon (Joey), Lexie Shoemaker (Dalton), Nikki Smith (Trey); great-grandchildren, Gracie Barlow (Blayne), Abbi Rose, Jordyn Parker, Sawyer Parker, Marley Rose, Piper Rose, Wyatt Cannon, Hudson Cannon, Shelby Shoemaker, Gracelynn Neal, Kaylynn Neal, Roselynn Smith; great-great-grandchildren, Rory Kate Barlow; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family.

Pallbearers will be Mike Brackeen, Joey Cannon, Dalton Shoemaker, Landon Brackeen, Blayne Barlow, Luke Parker, and Mac Leach.

In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in Mrs. Joanne’s memory.
