The Scriptural passage for today is found in Psalm 1: 1-2: “Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the ungodly or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on His law, he meditates day and night.” Do we wish to be called “blessed”? David did for a large part of his life and was even said to be “a man after God’s own heart.”. He enjoyed a close walk with the Lord and was very familiar with God’s expectations, His laws, His commandments. If one is to be considered “blessed” by God, he must avoid certain pitfalls, snares, and traps of the devil. If we read God’s guidebook, the BIBLE, we’ll know what the many wiles of the devil are. Let us be mindful and ever on guard to meditate on God’s Word. Commit Scripture to memory. Yield not to temptation. Be strong and resolute. Amen!
