  Arnold Parker Smith, 93, of Taylorsville, MS passed away Friday, December 27, 2024 at the Mississippi State Veterans Nursing Home in Collins, MS. He was born Saturday, February 7, 1931 at Cohay Camp in Smith County, Mississippi.

  Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 29, 2024 from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. at First Baptist Church of Taylorsville. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 29, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. at First Baptist Church of Taylorsville. Burial will follow in Fellowship Cemetery. Bro. Frankie Clark will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Taylorsville is in charge of arrangements. 601- 785-6564

 Mr. Smith retired after 47 years of service at BellSouth. He was a Mason and a member of the Taylorsville First Baptist Church. He also served in the U.S. military. In addition, he delivered many flowers for the family business, Taylorsville Florist and Gifts. Mr. Smith was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed time spent with family and loved to tell everyone about his great-granddaughter, Finley.

 He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Jean Smith; son, Richard Smith; parents, Aaron and Lina Smith; brother, Bayron Eugene Smith; sister, Nadine Dove.

 Survivors include his daughter, Connie Ware (Charlie) of Taylorsville, MS; daughter-in-law, Sandra Smith of Brandon; grandchildren, Neil Ware (Brandi) of Madison, Karen Ware of Taylorsville, Bradley Smith of Brandon and Brandi Smith of Brandon; sister, June Hannah of Brandon; great- grandchild, Finley Ware of Madison; and a host of beloved family.

 Pallbearers will be Bradley Smith, Neil Ware, Stephen Smith, Christopher Smith,    Jeff Williams, and Bob Hannah.

 The family would like to thank the staff at the VA for their care and compassion, “Thank you, darling!”
