PRESS RELEASE

On February 19, 2021 at approximately 9:50pm Assistant Chief Chris Jones and Officer Lin Easterling were conducting a Driver’s Safety Checkpoint on Washington St NE near Raleigh Drive in the Goodwater Community. The Officers were approached by a white Honda Accord occupied by two females identified as Cynthia Michelle Tuggle and Alisha Dawn Welch. The females were found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia and approximately 3 grams of what is believed to be Methamphetamine. Both were arrested for Felony possession of Methamphetamine.

On February 20,  2021 Magee Dispatch received a call that a missing juvenile female was at an address on Big V Rd. in Simpson County. The juvenile was reported missing/runaway on February 4, 2021. Investigator Sean Cooper requested the help of Simpson County Sheriff’s Department in locating the juvenile. Deputies with the Simpson County Sheriff’s Department located the juvenile female at that address and brought her to Magee Police Department. Magee Dispatch and Investigator Cooper then contacted Child Protective Services (CPS) in Pike and Amite Counties for proper care and placement of the juvenile.
