The October 7, 2024 Simpson County Board of Supervisors meeting was called to order by Board President Mitchell Chatman followed by prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance.

All supervisors were in attendance.

Reports were given by Tim Gray, Joyce Hicks,  Greg Bounds, and Jeremy Bolton..  Sheriff Paul Mullins did not have anything to report.

Chris Richardson and Michael Winfield of Horne CPA presented  a report on the returns of the money managed and grants received for different counties in the State.  The Board moved to allow Horne to move forward with seeking grants for Simpson County.

Tax Assessor Jamie Brewer reported 112 personal property business accounts are delinquent with a total tax due of $107,615.66 from 2023.  The surrendered tag list for September was recorded.

Eric Bowen, County administrator discussed the following items.

Daniel Ferguson, newly appointed Director of the Building Department, intends to” promote and push our county forward.”  Not only will Ferguson issue building permits but he will review all areas of the County building division.

Attorney Danny Welch announced an executive session was necessary .  The meeting was closed.
