At Tuesday nights, September 3, 2024, Board of Aldermen Meeting, Denis Borges was sworn-in as the Police Chief for the City of Magee.

Chief Borges will assume his duties September 16, 2024. He and his family will be moving to Magee.

The Chief took a tour of the Police Department and met the city policemen.  He expressed what a good group of policemen already employed by the City.

    Why did magee get someone in that we don’t even know…. you chose someone from a completely different county “Jones county” to take over the position of one of the best Chefs we’ve had in a long time but not only that completely ignored the 3 people that were trying to take the position that were already in the force of magee but were 100% qualified for the job they knew how things should be run here to keep the peace and were amazing officers. Why are you pulling people that aren’t even from here to run our police force I oppose this 100% and will vote in accordance
