The Scriptural passage chosen for today is found in Philippians 4:6-7: “In everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” The Word of God for the people of God; thanks be to God. The gospel writers of the New Testament were quick to remind new converts to Christianity of the importance of total reliance on Christ Jesus. They were encouraged to pray with thankful hearts and to walk with Him as closely as they possibly could. If they did so, God would give them perfect peace of mind. Also, the Holy Spirit would guard their hearts and minds and give them counsel and guidance. The same encouragement is given us today as followers of Christ. Let us remember that God’s Word remains the same yesterday, today, and forever. We might change. God and His Word do not. Amen!
