I’m just saying, the Zip Burger of Windham’s Restaurant has been named the number one hamburger in the state of Mississippi by the MS Cattleman’s Association!!!! The announcement was made at Tuesday night’s rodeo in Jackson at the Dixie National!!!
The Zip burger received the most votes cast by people all over the USA!
Congratulations to the great folks who work at Zip’s…and always and forever…#1 Zip…and David Windham…

The Zipburger at Zip’s Restaurant was named the Best Burger in the state of Mississippi! Announced at the Dixie National Rodeo tonight and voted on by residents of Mississippi and elected by judges with the Mississippi Beef Council. Thank you all for your support and outpouring of love. Dad and Pawpaw Zip would be so happy and proud. We are all so humbled yet excited by the news and look forward to continuing to serve you and the community for many years to come. —
“Our” Zip Burger is Paradise!!!
…and everyone in the state of Mississippi knows Magee has the best hamburger—-the zip burger!
Tuesday night at the Dixie National Rodeo, the Mississippi Cattleman’s Association and the Mississippi Beef Council announced the winner for the state wide “Best Burger in Mississippi Contest.”
When the Zip burger made it to the top ten, everyone in Magee was thrilled…but once the contest went on social media and MageeNews.com, within twenty four hours over 3,000 hits were received on the MS Beef Council website. MageeNews.com pushed the contest, friends told friends…and soon…we were close to the top.
Judging of the burger is not only on “likes.” A select judging team visits the top ten restaurants that were on the “burger” list. Without warning, the judges visited places from the coast to north Mississippi…and when the judges voted…yes, our own Zip Burger won the Top Spot!
Ya’ll, I’m just saying…this is not only a great thing for Windham’s Restaurant, but the city of Magee and Simpson County…everyone who travels through our town will be anxious to chomp down on the juicy burger!

the rest of the state now knows what we have known all along! Always has been my favorite burger. When i would come home from Chicago, this was the first and last thing I would eat while home. Congrats!
I love me some Zip Burger! Yum! Yum!
My grandmother worked at Windham’s “Zip’s” for 37 years and I may be bias here but it has always been the best burger I have eaten!! I lived in TN for 15 years and still no burger compared to the Zip Burger!! Feeling proud of the restaurant I grew up in!!!
