Good Morning! It only took me 6 days to get on track for early morning writing! …Just hope I can stay on track!
Speaking of track…what track is Kenneth Stokes on? At first, I was like “man, think before you speak,”then I realized he was saying just what he thought and that was even scarier. Really, why would any sane person say throw rocks etc. at the police!!! I don’t care how mad someone gets…throwing rocks…really….then name calling to the public on TV. This guy has serious issues and he needs to stay at home and watch TV. Ok, I guess I’ve thrown my rocks for the day!
Over night there was a bad house fire in Braxton on St John road. I do not know the details…but I know this…I am praying for these people. We have had so many house fires in our county lately. My heart breaks for these people.
Have you lost your dog? Check the story on the home page of MageeNews.com. Someone’s pet has been found in the Lakeview area …some sweet little pet is missing their home…and some owner is probably shedding some tears…let’s help both! (pet and owner).
Did you realize that Simpson Academy boys’ basketball team is 17-0!!!…almost an unheard of thing in BB. The team has a tough road this week!
Please send your senior’s picture and bio to Sue@mageenews.com We want to feature every senior in Simpson County. Working through the schools hasn’t worked, so parents…step up and let us feature your child. If anyone needs help in writing the biography or getting a picture, just call me. (601-849-3159)
The Mooie Looie (Biggest Buck) Contest is in full swing! The rules are simple: deer must be harvested in Mississippi and scored on the Boone and Crocket system. A riffle will be given in two divisions (17 & under) and (18 & older). Please feel free to send a picture before the deer has been scored. (just get the info to us before January 31st) Only deer, which have been scored, will be considered in the contest…but again, we love to see those pictures!
I am so excited!!! We have a new business opening in Magee! Sassy Glass Designs! Located at 126 Main Avenue North (across from City Hall in the corner building formerly occupied by Schaub Flooring). Betsy Roberts is one talented lady! She makes beautiful stained glass pieces…plus offers unique gifts. Betsy has a very successful online store with Etsy and now will offer a walk-in business for her clients. Betsy has lots of plans! The Grand Opening of Sassy Glass Designs is Monday, January 11th. Hours are Monday – Friday 9-5 and Saturday 10-3. Plan to visit Magee’s newest business! (Oh yes, great Mississippi made jewelry and pottery…something different in Magee!)
This is the description Betsy gave about her store: “For everyone who doesn’t know…let me tell you a little about what to expect in the store! I make stained glass items, as you can see in the photo albums. In addition to this, I will be branching out into mosaics and fused (hot) glass also! The mosaic area, (may not be finished by next week) for now will be for parties/bookings & scheduled events, things like kids bday parties or girls night out. Small groups or single individuals are welcomed too! For now, everyone must call ahead to reserve a time. After hours will be available also to larger groups. You will be able to pick from a variety of different items and decorate however you please with a wide variety of mediums (glass, sea shells, beads, buttons, tiles, etc). Eventually, this will evolve into a daily “walk ins welcomed”.
On top of all of that…. We will offer a wide variety of gifts!! Gifts that are local/made in Mississippi handmade items such as crocheting, jewelry, candles, soaps, bath products, metal roses, glass etching, greeting cards, wooden children’s toys, and so much more!!! My main goal is provide the Simpson county and surrounding areas with a place to shop for unique handmade items! “
A visit will be worth your time!
