Willie Rea “Bill” Scarborough
(October 2, 1928 – December 28, 2022)

Willie Rea “Bill” Scarborough, 94 of Harrisville, Mississippi passed away from her earthly home to her heavenly home on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at Bedford Care Center in Mendenhall, Mississippi. She was born Tuesday, October 2, 1928, in Simpson County, Mississippi.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 30, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home at 3077 Simpson Hwy 13, Mendenhall, Mississippi.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 31, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home. The burial will follow in Harrisville Cemetery in Harrisville, Mississippi. Bro. Truman Scarborough will officiate. Special music will be provided by Mr. Danny Way. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall is in charge of arrangements. 601-847-4401

Mrs. Bill was a member of Harrisville Baptist Church in Harrisville, Mississippi.  She was a loving wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend.  She retired from the GE plant in Jackson, Mississippi after forty years of service.  She enjoyed working in the garden, attending any events for her nieces and nephews, taking care of other people, and most of all spending time with her family.  She will be greatly missed by all of her loving family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles “Spot” Scarborough; father, Leroy Martin; mother, Henrietta Hilton Martin; brothers, L.T. Martin and Leo Frank Martin; and sisters, Lena Mae Martin Berry and Nancy Ann Martin Jennings.

Survivors include her one sister, Jeanette Martin Crawford of Harrisville, MS; one brother-in-law, Preston Scarborough of Magee, MS; and a host of five generations of nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.

Pallbearers will be Andy Martin, Mickey Martin, Wesley Williams, Timmy Jennings, Clint Way, and Jay Young.

Honorary pallbearers will be Landon Williams, Joel McKay, and Clay Hunter.
