Don’t Bag Your Leaves!!!
According to Nevis Rankin, MDEQ made a surprise visit to the land-fill located on the south end of Magee where leaves and limbs are stored following pick-up. Leaves can no longer be plastic in plastic bags! Ya’ll, this is serious! Please pile leaves by the side of the road. The city trucks will pick up the leaves…but no bagged leaves will be picked up! The MDEQ no longer allows any plastic in that area. We do not want our pit closed…if we do not follow instructions…we run the risk of the pit being closed. Please spread the word about no more leaves in bags. Each alderman was asked to contact their constitutes about the “don’t bag your leaves” ordinance.
Curtis Derrick Lowery was hired for the city work crew to run the backhoe.
