The passage chosen today is found in 1 John 1:9: “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” What a verse of profound assurance for the believer, as well as for those who might be under conviction. We must repent, truly be sorry for our sins; then, God, in His infinite wisdom, will forgive us and purify us. The purification process involves a purging of the sins which plague all mankind and separate us from the love of God. Therefore, we must throw off the old and take on the new in Christ Jesus. “Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow.” Amen!
