We hold joint citizenship: both here and in Heaven

The Scriptural passage chosen for today is found in Philippians 3:20: “But our citizenship is in Heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ.” Most of us claim an earthly citizenship either here in the United States or in some other country. However, as Christians, we hold joint citizenship: both here and in Heaven. And, as children of the King, we already have our passport for our one-way flight to Gloryland. Our ticket was purchased with the blood of Jesus Christ through his death, burial, and resurrection. I claimed my ticket in 1957 in our pea patch while sitting on a bushel hamper. Have you claimed yours? If not, make your preparations now by accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and be assured of safe passage. I hope we’ll all be ready when that call comes. Amen!
“Let your life so be that all the world may see the joy of serving Jesus with a smile, a bright, shining smile.” (I do love the old gospel song “Give the World a Smile.”)
