The Scriptural passage for today is found in John 14:21: “Whoever has My commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves Me. He who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I, too, will love him and show Myself to him.” These words of assurance were spoken directly by Jesus Himself, as recorded by the apostle. His message is very clear and succinct: trust and obey God and His commands and His precepts. If we do so, we, His children, will share in a very special communion with our Lord and Savior. If we draw close to Him, He’ll draw close to us. That’s a promise from God. Let us do so on a daily and consistent basis. “Trust and obey, for there’s no other way to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey. Then in fellowship sweet, we shall sit at His feet, and we’ll walk by His side in the way….” I do love that ageless hymn. Let’s live it as we sing it. I believe it should be the Christian’s anthem! Amen!
