Treasurer Lynn Fitch Elected Chair
of State Financial Officers Foundation
Jackson, MS. Treasurer Lynn Fitch was elected the new Chair of the State Financial Officers Foundation (SFOF) this morning at the Fall meeting of the organization in Chicago, Illinois.
“It is a true honor to be elected by my colleagues from across the U.S. to run this organization in the coming year,” said Treasurer Lynn Fitch. “SFOF provides such a critical platform for sharing ideas and best practices between the states and for working together to meet the needs of the citizens we represent. I am looking forward to the opportunity to lead these efforts.”
The State Financial Officers Foundation was established to help treasurers and other state financial officers promote fiscally responsible, conservative policy ideas. It provides an opportunity for those involved in executing public policy to meet with and discuss ideas with those in the private sector and academia. It currently consists of 19 treasurers, CFOs, and controllers elected or appointed to office across the country.
Prior to today’s election, Treasurer Fitch served as SFOF’s Vice Chair. In addition, she has just completed her second term as Vice President for the Southern Region for the National Association of State Treasurers, a separate national network of treasurers and other state financial officers.
