Tommy Glen Welch, 58, of Harrisville, Mississippi, passed away from his earthly home to his heavenly home on Sunday, March 14, 2021, at University Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi. He was born Monday, March 26, 1962, in Hazlehurst, Mississippi.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 16, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Palestine Baptist Church, 1491 Old River Road, Harrisville, Mississippi.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, March 17, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Palestine Baptist Church. The burial will follow in Palestine Baptist Church Cemetery in Harrisville, Mississippi. Brother Scott Parker will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Magee is in charge of arrangements. (601) 849-5031
Mr. Welch was a faithful member of Palestine Baptist Church of Harrisville, Mississippi, where he served as a Deacon. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, nephew, and friend. He served his community as a Volunteer Fireman. He enjoyed drag racing and watching his grandson play sports. He also helped anyone in his community in anything that they needed. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Welch and Jewel Kelly Welch.
Survivors include his loving wife of forty years, Angela Myers Welch of Harrisville; two sons, David Welch and GeAnna Wilson, of Brandon and Thomas Welch and fiancé Meagan Bridges of Brandon; one daughter, Monica Barfield and husband, Chris, of Port St. Joe, FL; three grandchildren, Myers Welch, Logan Byrd, and Joanna Byrd; two brothers, Richard Welch and wife, Loree, of Harrisville and JJ Welch and wife, Cheryl, of Harrisville; aunts and uncles, Merle Ahner of Vicksburg, Robert Kelly and wife, Sherry, of Florence, and Jewel Ward of Harrisville; and a host of other family members and friends.
Pallbearers will be Dylan Welch, Brennan Welch, Charles Prestridge, Kenny Lewis, Dalton McDonald, and Carlos Cooper. Honorary pallbearer will be Todd Greene.
