Tina Louise Hux Obituary
Tina Louise Hux, 56, of Pinola, Mississippi, entered her heavenly home on October 4, 2026, at 5:25 p.m. in her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born September 5, 1970, in Waynesboro, Mississippi, to the late William Green and Ruby Green Street.
Tina married the love of her life, William Carlton Hux III, on July 7, 1992. Together, they built a beautiful life centered around their love for the Lord, their children, and their family. They shared nearly 30 years of marriage before Will’s passing in 2022.
Above all else, Tina’s greatest pride and joy was being a mother. She fiercely loved and protected her children, and there was never any question that she would do anything in her power for them. Some of life’s most precious moments for Tina were found simply being present—sitting in the stands at a baseball game, cheering her children on in their activities, gathering around the table, or having her family together under one roof.
That fierce love only grew when she became “Nonna.” Her grandchildren were her world, and she treasured every hug, every visit, and every memory made with them.
Tina had a loving, caring, and nurturing spirit and spent much of her life caring for others. She enjoyed substitute teaching for many years with the Simpson County School District before leaving to care for her husband.
If you entered Tina’s home, you were going to be taken care of. She had a gift for making people feel welcome, and one thing was certain—you would never leave her house hungry or in need. Her generosity, warmth, and willingness to care for others were simply part of who she was.
Tina was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Carlton Hux III; her father, William Green; her mother, Ruby Green Street; her niece, Ashley Cantrell; her nephew, Blake Hux; and her grandparents, Chestine Wilburn “Tenner” Kennedy and Lila Louise Bishop.
She leaves behind a beautiful legacy through her children, Brittney Kemp and husband Jason, Austin Hux and wife Caitlin, and Cade Hux and wife Madison. She is also survived by the grandchildren she so dearly loved, Winter Kemp, Lennon Hux, Bret Hux, Mary Carlton Hux, and Lila Hux; step-grandchildren, Annabelle Kemp and Hunter Kemp and many siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and loved ones who will forever cherish her memory.
As Tina’s earthly life drew to a close, she gave her family one final and immeasurable gift: certainty. Tina was confident and secure in her salvation, and she made sure her family knew it. Even in the hardest days, she wanted the people she loved to have comfort and peace in knowing where she was going.
Her family grieves deeply, but they do not grieve without hope. They take comfort in knowing Tina is reunited with her beloved Will and resting in the presence of her Lord and Savior. Her earthly presence will be deeply missed, but the love she poured into her family will continue through the generations she leaves behind.
The words of 2 Corinthians 4:8–9 beautifully reflect the hope her family carries: “We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed.”
Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at Tutor Funeral Home in Mendenhall, Mississippi, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. A graveside service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Hux Cemetery.
Tina’s family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to AccentCare Hospice for the compassionate and excellent care they provided to Tina and her family during her final days.
Tina’s life will be remembered in the children she fiercely loved, the grandchildren who knew her as Nonna, the husband she faithfully cared for, and the countless people who had the privilege of being welcomed, fed, cared for, and loved by her.
Her absence will be deeply felt, but because of the faith she so confidently professed, her family knows this goodbye is not forever.
