Timmy Joe Jernigan, 65 of Taylorsville, Mississippi passed away from his earthly home to his heavenly home on Friday, July 7, 2023, at Wayne General Hospital in Waynesboro, Mississippi. He was born on Monday, July 22, 1957, in Taylorsville, Mississippi.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 113 Front Street, Taylorsville, Mississippi.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Taylorsville, Mississippi. The burial will follow in Clear Creek Cemetery in Taylorsville, Mississippi. Dr. Frankie Clark will officiate. Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Taylorsville is in charge of arrangements. 601-785-6564
Mr. Timmy was a member of Clear Creek Baptist Church in Taylorsville, MS. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He enjoyed farming, driving trucks, building a fence, but most of all spending time with his girls and grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all of his loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Karen Jo Jernigan; daughter, Lacey Ruth Jernigan; father, Joseph Benjamin Jernigan; brothers, Jeffery Wayne Jernigan and James Richard Jernigan; and nephew, James Benjermin Jernigan.
Survivors include his mother, Sammie Matthews Wempren of Taylorsville, MS; four daughters, Ashley Jernigan (Kevin Graham) of Laurel, MS, Sarah Lovett Graves (Kenny) of Laurel, MS, Kayla Jernigan Dobson-Smith (Jake Burnham) of Laurel, MS, Casey Jernigan Baker (James) of Laurel, MS; nine grandchildren, Tyler Reon of Laurel, MS, Ashlynn Reon of Laurel, MS, Adin Reon of Laurel, MS, Isaac Graves of Laurel, MS, Kaleb Smith of Laurel, MS, Claudia Mansfield of Laurel, MS, Parker Sullivan of Laurel, MS, Timmy Cooper Jernigan of Laurel, MS and Sammie Jernigan of Laurel, MS; one great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Reon of Laurel, MS one brother, Joseph Randy Jernigan (Betty) of Taylorsville, MS; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Pallbearers will be Dustin Howell, Blaine Howell, James Baker, Kenny Graves, Jake Burnham, and Wilson Ishee.
