Monday morning, November 6, 2023, a threat to Magee High School was received by the Magee Police Department.  Upon receiving the information, the Magee Police Department and Simpson County Sheriff’s office began required protocol for a possible school threat. Law enforcement did a full investigation and could not discover any potential threat to the campus. Law officials believe the threat made to the campus may have been a possible prank.

According to Magee Police Chief Shane Little, all policies and procedures were followed requiring a hard lock down of the school.  Chief Little also reported he does not believe the caller was on the school’s campus.  At no time was an active shooter on campus.

Earlier reports stated a threat had been made on social media.  The threat came through the Magee Police Department and not on social media.

An active investigation continues to locate the person making the call.
