The Scriptural passage selected for today is found in Isaiah 57:2: “Those who walk uprightly enter into peace: they find rest as they lie in death.” This verse of Scripture provides great comfort for the Christian. It does for me, knowing my loved ones who have passed on and professed Christ as their Lord and Savior are at rest and lie in perfect peace. We who are still alive can take comfort that we, too, will one day do the same. When Jesus returns, however, we’re told in the BIBLE that the dead in Christ will rise first and will be caught up with Him in the air. What a glorious day that will be! It’s the day all Christians wait for in great anticipation. “This world is not my home; I’m just a-passing through. My treasures are laid up, somewhere beyond the blue. The angels beckon me from Heaven’s open door, and I can’t feel at home in this world anymore.” I loved that old gospel song as a child. I still do.
Happy Saturday!
