Simpson County School Board Member Thomas Ray Floyd recently spoke in an interview with MageeNews, clarifying that he was expressing personal opinions, not those of the school board.

Mr. Floyd has been open in his opposition to school consolidation, citing multiple concerns. He believes the cost is too high, the location selection questionable, and that the distance students would have to travel would cause significant hardship for families.

Floyd emphasized the importance of public input and transparency, stating he values education and listening to the community.
