Thermal Scanners Approved for County Schools

The Simpson County School Board met Thursday, July 29, 2020 for a special called meeting.
The business discussed was the purchase of thermal scanners for Simpson County Schools.
The scanners takes the students temperature and picture upon entering the building. Up to 30 students can be scanned at one time.

The computer program will take a photograph of the student and recored body temperature as they enter the building.
The scanners are portable and can be used at meetings and events.
The scanners are more accurate than the handheld thermometers and will save time on individual scanning of the students.
The board approved the purchase of 9 units at a cost of $120,690.00.  The thermal scanners will be paid for with the CARES money.
