The Scriptural passage chosen for today is found in 2 Thessalonians 2:16-17: “May our Lord Jesus Christ Himself and God our Father, Who loved us and by His grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word.” In ending his letter to the members of the Christian church at Thessalonica, the writer, perhaps Paul, offered hope in Christ Jesus, as they continued their good work as Christ had admonished. Paul knew that encouragement and hope were so important and very necessary in the process of recruiting new converts. We, too, need to encourage one another within our own churches that our source and our strength as Christians lie in our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen!

James Davis
