Statement on Officer-Involved Shootings

Today, the Office of the Attorney General announced it has completed the review of two incidents involving officer-involved shootings. These include a June 11, 2025 incident in Saucier, Mississippi, involving one deputy with the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office, and a November 14, 2024 incident in McComb, Mississippi, involving the former Chief of the McComb Police Department. In these two incidents, the Attorney General’s Office found the use of force was justified. Pursuant to Section 45-1-6 of the Mississippi Code, the reviews followed an investigation by the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation.
