Earlier in the week, I published a story about the damage at the Ural Everett Park in Magee. I was horrified that anyone would damage something as beautiful as the tall column in the Park—but they did!
While visiting Linda Pruitt at Hand’s Nursery on Wednesday, Linda shared with me the history of the column. The story is interesting and is told in the video.
One thing Linda said was she felt the “ruins” should be left just like they are! Linda and her husband Charles have traveled extensively in Europe and have visited many areas of ruins. Linda explained that the ruins are history and should be celebrated as history.
I am not so sure I agree with Linda, but her feelings were interesting and led me in a totally different direction.
What’s your thoughts? Clean up or leave?
I will say this, I think we have to relocate because kids will probably continue to bust the remainder of the columns. Maybe the columns could be incorporated into the flower beds or something at the park.
Ok, everyone…weigh in on your thoughts!
