The 50 Year old Time Capsule Opening Thursday

The long awaited opening of the Simpson County Bicentennial time capsule is almost here!  Thursday morning, July 4, 2024, the lid will be lifted and all the county will learn “what’s inside!”

The county workers cleared the hole Wednesday morning in preparation for the opening .

The Capsule was buried in 1974 at the Simpson County Courthouse.

      An inventory list will be created and published. Items will be at the Simpson County Historical Society building which is near the Courthouse
