My name is Ted Blakeney, and I have had the privilege and responsibility of serving as your Justice Court Judge for 19 years.  I want to thank you for giving me the opportunity to serve our community and ask that you continue to do so by re-electing me again this year.

As your Justice Court Judge, I have worked hand in hand with law enforcement to protect and improve our community, staying on call 24 hours a day to sign warrants and see prisoners within 48 hours of arrest and ruling on misdemeanors in our county.

I also work closely with the VA and Region 8 to see that prisoners receive the help and rehab they need to improve their lives and better protect Simpson County because being a justice court judge is not always about putting people in jail – it’s about doing what’s in the best interest of our community.

For that reason, I have maintained a 94% DUI Conviction rate.

I have had a lifelong desire to serve and served 7 years in the military, from which I was honorably discharged.  I am married to the former Gladys Bell Griffith, and we have four children, 8 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.  I am an active member of New Bethlehem Baptist Church and am also a member of the Oak Hill Lodge 553, the American Legion Post 74 in Mendenhall, the NRA and the Committee to Bear Arms.

As your Justice Court Judge, I promise to:

  • Do the job to the best of my ability.
  • Be fair and impartial.
  • Treat people the way I would want to be treated.

Please allow me to continue serving you as Justice Court Judge by voting for me, Ted Blakeney, in the primary election on August 6.
