Members of the Republican Women of Simpson County (RWSC) gathered for their quarterly meeting at Jose’s Restaurant in Magee, where attendees heard an informative presentation on career and technical education opportunities available to local students.
Guest speakers Jimmie Adcox and David Booth, instructors at the Simpson County Technical Center, shared how the center is preparing students for successful careers in two of today’s fastest-growing and most in-demand fields—carpentry/construction and law/public safety.
The instructors discussed the hands-on training students receive, emphasizing the importance of developing practical skills that can lead directly to rewarding careers or provide a strong foundation for continuing education. They highlighted the increasing demand for skilled tradesmen and public safety professionals, encouraging support for career and technical education programs that equip students for the workforce.
The meeting began on a patriotic note as Macie Tudor, a fifth-grade student from Mize, beautifully performed the National Anthem, earning warm applause from those in attendance.
The Republican Women of Simpson County continue to provide programs that keep members informed about issues affecting the local community and highlight organizations and educational opportunities that make a positive impact throughout Simpson County.
