Simpson County Board of Supervisors adopted the 2020 Fiscal Year Budget during Friday, September 13, 2019 meeting.
For the next fiscal year 2020, Simpson County plans no increase in the total ad valorem tax mileage rate. With no increase this will leave the rate at 103.5 mills. Simpson County tax payers will not see an increase for taxes for home, automobile rag, utilities, business fixtures and equipment, and rental real property. The only increase will come if there is an increase in the assessed value of your property.
The Simpson County Board of Supervisors is now operating with a projected total budget revenue of $17,071,565. (60.21 percent) or $10,279,208, of such revenue is obtained through ad valorem taxes. Fo next fiscal year, the proposed budget has a total projected revenue of $18,377,630. Of that amount, (55.860 of $10,265,285, is proposed to be financed through a total ad valorem tax levy.
