Sue Brown Boggan, Benton, MS

Sue Brown Boggan passed away on March 19, 2020, at Select Specialty Hospital-Belhaven in Jackson, MS. She was 84. She was born in Simpson County on September 24, 1935, to Scott and Mary Alice Brown.

Sue lived in Mendenhall for most of her life. She married Joe Benton Boggan on October 19, 1955. She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Mendenhall. She also attended Parkview Church of God in Yazoo City for 10 years.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, D’Wayne Boggan; two brothers, Fred Brown and Harold Brown; a sister, Rose Nell Hilton and her granddaughter, Lydia Boggan.

Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Joe Benton Boggan; son, Joseph Boggan and wife Carol; granddaughter, Lauren Pettigrew and husband Nolan; grandson, Ben Boggan and a great-grandson, James Blande Pettigrew.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2020, from 12:00 p.m. until services begin at 2:00 p.m. all at Macedonia Baptist Church in Mendenhall. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Arrangements are entrusted to Tutor Funeral Home of Mendenhall.
