At approximately 2:30 PM Monday afternoon, January 8, 2024,  a 16 year old  Simpson County student was shot after getting off the school bus.

The incident happened near the Shivers Road area.  The name of the injured has not been released.

The 16 year old flagged down a bus driver as he passed through the area letting the bus driver know he had been shot.

The Simpson County Sheriff Department is in charge of the investigation.

 

According to Simpson County Sheriff Paul Mullins the juvenile is in stable condition.
