Steven Alan Hancock known to many as Coach Hancock passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, June 7, 2020, at his residence at the age of 59. Born on May 26, 1961, in Oklahoma to Doyle D. and Vinni (Elliott) Hancock who preceded him in death.

Steven attended Biloxi High School in Biloxi, MS and was a class of 1979 graduate. He went on to attend Millsaps College and studied History from 1979 until 1984. He graduated from the University of Alabama with a degree in political science in 1990. From there he began his career in teaching and coaching. He was currently employed with the Simpson County School District as a teacher and baseball coach. Steven was a great coach, teacher, friend and inspiration too many. He helped mold so many of the kids he coached and was very passionate about the game but it was always about the kids and the love he had for them. He was a great father and brother. His legacy will live on through the lives he touched.

Steven is survived by his loving daughter, Abigail Grace Hancock; brother, David Hancock and stepmother, Martha Hancock. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service and celebration of life will be held on Friday, June 12, 2020, beginning at 10:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Magee.
