Today, the Office of the Attorney General announced it has completed the review of three officer-involved critical incidents. These include a March 12, 2024, incident in Jackson involving one agent with the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics; a April 26, 2024, incident in West Point involving one deputy with the Clay County Sheriff’s Office; and a May 30, 2024, incident in Jackson involving one officer with the Jackson Police Department. In all three incidents, the Attorney General’s Office found the use of force was justified.
The Office of the Attorney General also completed its review into the December 4, 2024, incident in Vicksburg involving one officer with the Vicksburg Police Department and presented it to the Warren County grand jury. The Grand Jury reported that it found no criminal conduct on behalf of the officer involved. As such no further criminal action will be taken by the Office in this matter.
