WHERE: The dedication ceremony will be held at Mize First Baptist Church, 607 Oak Street, Mize, MS 39116.
WHY: During the 2021 Legislative Session, House Bill 424 was passed. It designated, “The segment of Mississippi Highway 35 located in Smith County, Mississippi, beginning fifteen hundreds (.15) of a mile north of its intersection with Cottonwood Drive and extending southerly to a point one-half (1/2) mile south of its intersection with Cottonwood Drive, is designated and shall be known as the ‘Senator Billy H. Thames Memorial Highway.’”
