Update: Jeff received word from his doctor today that there was no cancer located in the lymph nodes! Praise the Lord! All cancer cells were removed during surgery! Jeff has a hard recovery and is still in need of your continuous prayers.
Jeff Blackwell was diagnosed with stage 1a lung cancer on Wednesday, July 3, 2019. The bottom of his left lung was removed on Wednesday. The results of other test (lymph nodes) have not been received at this time.
The cancer discovery happened quick and unexpected. A spot was discovered last year after a scan of a kidney stone. The pulmonologist watched the spot but at a June check up the spot had grown. We all hoped it was nothing but when the surgeon preformed the biopsy, the cancer was found.
Jeff was in ICU for a day and a half and 5 days in the hospital. He will need a month of recovery at home to recoup from this surgery.
Prayers are requested for a quick recovery and no more cancer.
Anyone who faces the “Big C” knows how gut retching this diagnosis is to the family and friends.
