John Shoemaker, an energy services technician with Southern Pine Electric and Power
Association gave a presentation to students enrolled in Agriculture and Natural Resources, and
Construction/Carpentry programs at the Simpson County Technical Center. Students were educated about the importance of being safe around energized lines and other electrical appliances or circuits. Students saw a simulation of how electricity is made and conducted. In addition, they learned ways to conserve electricity and lifelong safety procedures related to electricity.
