LAUREL, Miss. — April 28, 2025 — South Central Regional Medical Center announces the
selection of ten residents to its internal medicine residency program. Following its accreditation by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education in earlyFebruary, SCRMC began accepting applications from medical students around the world.
After a tedious review process of more than 3,100 applications, the organization chose the
following ten individuals:
- Abdul Qadree, MD – Caribbean Medical University School of Medicine
- Ashlyn Thomas, MD – American International School of Medicine
- Caitlin Lean, MD – Dalhousie University Faculty of Medicine
- Farwa Kazmi, MD – Rawalpindi Medical College
- Krutika Gohil, MD – H.B.T. Medical College & Dr. R.N. Cooper Municipal General
Hospital - Onkar Sallan, DO – William Carey University College of Osteopathic Medicine
- Roshi Ramachandran, MD – Vydehi Institute of Medical Sciences & Research Centre
- Sai Nived Eadara, MD- Siddhartha Medical College
- Tommaso Agostino, DO – William Carey University College of Osteopathic Medicine
- Umer Talal, MD – Services Institute of Medical Sciences
“We could not be more elated to welcome this remarkable group of physicians to South Central,”
said SCRMC’s GME Program Designated Institutional Official, Deepu Thoppil, MD. “These
ambitious young men and women are pioneers who will be shaping the future of healthcare with
us.”
SCRMC will honor these physicians with an official white coat ceremony on June 30, 2025.
These physicians will complete their first day of residency on July 1, 2025, marking a historic
day for SCRMC.
