LAUREL, Miss. – Sept. 10, 2025 – South Central Family Medicine is excited to welcome Ramsi Dykes Blankenship, DO.
Dr. Blankenship, a native of Hot Coffee, Mississippi, is returning to the Pine Belt after completing medical school and residency outside the state. She earned her medical degree from Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine at Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama, in 2022 and completed her residency at St. Elizabeth Healthcare in Edgewood, Kentucky, in 2025.
“I am eager to begin seeing patients at SCRMC,” Dr. Blankenship said. “As a family medicine physician, it is my goal to provide adult, adolescent and pediatric patients with comprehensive treatment that adjusts to their needs.”
Dr. Blankenship and the team at South Central Family Medicine specialize in the treatment of chronic care conditions including diabetes, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, gastroesophageal reflux disease, hypertension, thyroid disease, depression, arthritis and many other conditions. They also offer the following services:
- Diagnosis and treatment of acute illnesses
- Comprehensive physical exams and laboratory testing for assessment of healthcare needs
- Defining and updating your immunization requirements
- Women’s preventive health care
- Answering your most personal questions regarding your health
- Assessing your healthcare risks and providing education on preventive lifestyle changes
- Minor surgical procedures
Establishing care with a primary care provider is one way for patients to support their overall health and wellness. A primary care provider can both perform vital health services and refer to specialists when more specialized care is needed, all while having vast knowledge of the patient’s medical history.
Dr. Blankenship joins the staff at South Central Family Medicine, where she works alongside W. Mark Horne, MD; Jack C. Evans, MD; Terry C. Pitts, DO; Rebecca Scarbrough, FNP; Alan Bryson, PA; and Jeanna Freeman-Berkey, PA. South Central Family Medicine will also welcome Katie Cranston, MD, MPH, in January of 2026.
