In a matchup of old school rivals, Simpson traveled southwest to Lincoln County to take on Brookhaven Academy. The Cougars did not waste any time, as they scored TDs on their first 3 possessions of the game and jumped out to a 35-6 halftime lead. The Cougars would keep the pedal down in the 2nd Half en route to a 49-20 win to take them over .500 for the 1st time this year(4-3). Now the test starts getting tougher as the Cougars finish the last 3 games of the regular season in district play. As the Cougars jockey for position in the playoff picture, a couple of key wins over the next 3 weeks of the season will give them a tremendous opportunity to bring a 7th state championship back to Mendenhall!
