For 92 years the Simpson County Super Bowl has been played the last game of the regular football season with the exception of two years being played at the beginning of season in Jackson at Memorial Stadium for High School Super Saturday.

But, this year a new “tradition” begins. Magee and Mendenhall will play one another next week for the first time in late September.

Although the date is different the rivalry  is no less intense.

Students and staff at both schools have enjoyed dressing up and showing spirit all week.

The two teams are pumped and ready for play.

The game will be played at Mendenhall High School.

The overall record of the series is very close but to date Magee leads with 47 wins to Mendenhall’s 42 with 2 games ending in ties.

Game begins at 7:00 but gates will open early for those who want the best seats.
