For ninety-six years the Magee Trojans and Mendenhall Tigers have played football against one another!  For 91 years the game was played the last game of regular season play with the exception of two years being played at the beginning of the season in Jackson at the Memorial Stadium for High School Super Saturday.

Four years ago the tradition of last play game came to a halt due to the schools not being in the same district.  Last game of the season is now reserved for district play.

The Magee VS Mendenhall game will be played at Tiger Field.

Sara Skinner — Helping Others Comes From the Heart

December 9, 2025

Magee won their opening season game.  Mendenhall lost their opening season game.  Both teams are hungry to win this important season game.

I consider Mrs. Joyce Barnes the historian of Magee Football.  With the big game just two days away, Joyce shared a couple of old pictures.

I think everyone has Magee/Mendenhall tales!  For years, students ran the torch from one school to the other.  We have “burned” the Tiger for years!  The students at both school enjoy theme days the week of the game where they dress up!  From first graders to seniors everyone gets in the game and spirit.

Why don’t you share your Magee/Mendenhall tale?  I would love to hear of others experiences.

May the best team win!
