Simpson County School District Holds 2022-23 Spelling Bee
Simpson County School District (SCSD) held its 2022-2023 District Spelling Bee today, Feb. 2, at Magee Elementary School.
The Spelling Bee consisted of 25 contestants, representing Magee Elementary, Mendenhall Elementary, Magee Middle, Mendenhall Jr. High, and Simpson Central schools. The top three finalists were
· First Place: Kami Patrick, 8th Grade, Simpson Central School
· Second Place: Alandria Rhodes, 4th Grade, Magee Elementary School
· Third Place: Brianna Steverson, 5th Grade, Mendenhall Elementary School
As first place winner, Patrick will have an opportunity to represent SCSD during the 2023 Mississippi Spelling Bee on Saturday, March 4, at the Mississippi University for Women.
