E911 Office alone with Simpson County Board of Supervisors are encouraging and asking all Simpson County residents to make sure each home is numbered with home address.
4″ or 6″ letters should be displayed on all homes. If a home is located off main road, the organizations ask that numbers be visible from the road on a mailbox or sign.
Displaying address on each house with a house number helps emergency personnel to locate the home owner rapidly when an emergency occurs. The signage will help police responding to a call, fire department locating a home fire, ambulance finding an emergency health call, etc.
The City of Magee made this same request several months ago. The request is for the benefit of our citizens.
The green reflective sign on your mailbox is the best thing you can get. We as first responders can see those so much easier than anything you can put on your house.
