I don’t know about ya’ll, but when I read these numbers I was shocked. I had no idea we were not growing at a faster rate. I had no idea Simpson County had a higher unemployment rate than the US average.
I was not surprised at the job growth. We don’t have many jobs because we have no industry. Our future job growth is scary. Income tax rate for Simpson County is higher than the US average!
What does all this mean? We need jobs in our county. We need money spent in our county. We need to work hard to improve our county.
I am not one who likes to look on the dark side, but this report is pretty dark.
Hopefully, our SCDF can continue to promote our county and seek jobs for our county.
