The Rotary Club of Simpson County distributed 276 dictionaries to the 3rd Graders across Simpson County on Friday, October 16.
The dictionary project is an annual event for Rotarians across the country. Its goal is to put a dictionary in the hands of third graders at a critical time of their language arts development.
Part of the presentation by Rotarians includes having the students look up two words and read the definitions. It reinforces the use of dictionaries and builds excitement into the process of learning the definitions of new words.
