Sheriff Donald O’Cain reported Wednesday afternoon that escaped inmate Russell Williams has been captured. Williams was captured around 1 PM today behind his father’s home on Eugie Palmer Road in Mendenhall. Williams received help from local people in Simpson County. The Sheriff is aware of who these people are. The people who assisted Williams could be charged with aiding and abetting a criminal which is punishable by jail time.
O’Cain again stressed the importance of being aware of your surroundings. The tips which came into the Sheriff’s Department resulted in the discovery of Williams.
