The Simpson County Board of Supervisors meeting of February 2, 2015, was called to order at 9 a.m. and opened with prayer. All supervisors were present. The January minutes were approved.
Buddy Wolverton, County Engineer, presented the County Engineer’s report to the board, the Status of State and Federal Aid, and the LASP projects. The board approved the report.
Barry Sparks, Road Manager, presented the Road Manager’s Monthly Report, which was approved. Mr. Sparks requested two easements – one for a school bus turn around on Bates Rd and the other for water draingage onto the Paul Mullins Road. Both of these easement were approved by the board.
Sheriff Kenneth Lewis asked the board’s approval for pay roll on Randy Moore as a full time deputy and Landon Ates as a part time deputy. The board appoved both pay rolls with none opposed.
Mr. Tommy Joe Harvey, Chancery Clerk, requested authorization to advertise notice of publication of final settlement of contract project # STP-0319-13-B. The board approved the request with none opposed.
Mr. Rhuel Dickinson, County Administrator, presented his agenda of board authorizations. The board approved all of Dickinson agenda.
Mr. Danny Welch, Board Attorney, mentioned the issue of selling the the house on Jake Barnes Road by Wells Fargo Bank. Welch stated the issue with the deed had been resolved and the board could list the house. The board approved Welch’s motion.
The board was call to executive session to discuss personal matters.
The board meeting was recessed until Friday, February 13, 2015.
