The Scriptural passage selected for today is found in 2 Corinthians 5:17-18: “If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone; the new has come! All this is from God, Who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation.” Again, the apostle is addressing the early Christians, reminding them that they are a separate people; they have been transformed spiritually and are no longer slaves to sin and its sure condemnation. They are now children of God and are heirs to eternal life with Christ Jesus and all of Heaven. They are no longer Jew and gentile. They are one with God, bound by bonds of love. The apostle of old is speaking to us today as well. We have the same assurance as did those early Christians. Let us never forget that we are a chosen lot, set aside for work in furthering the kingdom of God here on earth. “Let us not grow weary in the work of love. Send the light! Send the light! Let us gather jewels for the crown above. Send the light! Send the light!” I do love that old hymn. Amen!
Happy Tuesday!
